Wanted: Animal Lovers!!!

If you've been looking for a way to help the Ashtabula County APL animals but don't have much available time, here is a great way for you to help!

We've recently switched to a new method of updating Petfinder which enables us to have all our adoptable animals up on Petfinder all the time...this is usually around 150 animals, and they change daily. I'm currently the only one doing Petfinder descriptions, and I just don't have time to evaluate all the animals (plus I'm allergic to cats) so many of the animals just have the bare-bones shelter info...age, breed, size...and one picture. I'd love to have some help in writing descriptions!

Here's how you can help:

1). Check out our Petfinder site at http://ashtabulaapl.petfinder.org

2). Pick out one or more animals that appeal to you that don't already have detailed descriptions or more than one picture

3). Go to the shelter and spend some time with the animal (be sure to ask the shelter staff if it's okay!)

4). Write up a brief blurb about the animal's personality and email it to me at dawn.shimp@gmail.com (at gmail dot com). If you'd like, you can also take a couple pictures of the animal and send them as well...for any animal that only has one pic, we could use two more.

5). I'll update the animals Petfinder listing with the info you supply!

If you're interested, I do have Dog Info Sheets at the shelter that you can use as a guideline as to what info is helpful...or just be creative and make your own!
